Naturalis

MAY 2012 - JULY 2012

Brand Identity and Packaging

To meet rapidly increasing consumer demands for both ethical and natural cosmetics and beauty products, the brief required the development of a new brand of organic-based beauty products, targeting both women and men. The main product range was broken down into three separate ranges, Her Moments for Women, His Moments for Men and First Moments for Mum and Baby.

Symbols and icons built a strong foundation point behind the final branding concept. Each product included the addition of a symbol or a collection of symbols to simplify an instruction or illustrate a particular action. A set of symbols were designed for each range of products. This technique of informing the consumer was continued within the design of the website and promotional material.

Prototype Packaging

Both aesthetics and attractiveness were distinctive features that I considered essential for the product packaging.

Website Design

The brief required a minimum of eight website pages which visually reflected the identity and mission of the new Naturalis brand and ‘Grow Your Own’ Sub-Brand.  A minimal design solution was supported by a simple structure to demonstrate a successful balance between the communicative and aesthetic elements.

Grow Your Own Sub Brand

In an effort to help raise awareness and educate consumers on the benefits of natural, homemade remedies, Naturalis also comprises a ‘Grow Your Own’ Range. The Sub Brand aims to encourage consumers to live a more healthy and holistic lifestyle through the power of nature by growing their own beauty products. My aim was to enhance the brand experience, by encouraging consumers to interact with the packaging after purchase. The gift box packaging for the ‘Grow Your Own’ range, is made from Coconut Coir Fibre, meaning that it is 100% biodegradable and can be used as a tray to grow seedlings which can be planted straight into the earth and it will decompose naturally.
